Moonlight Iris is the floral source for inspired hearts & natural beauty, serving various areas in Art & Design.

Using trusted techniques, we work with customers to create unforgettable atmospheres that embody the qualities of each unique personality, style & visual direction.

Founder, Maria Jenkins developed a reputation for beautiful, organic floral designs with relaxed, yet sophisticated components. Maria works based on seasonality + surprise with a background in the Decorative Arts, Apparel Merchandising & Agriculture.

Since growing up in Trent Woods, a town of New Bern, NC on a quiet creek and close to the county line to her Grandparent’s farmland + tree business, Maria was destined to lead in creativity with the spirit of nature consistently in mind. Maria’s late mother was a watercolor painter and revered art teacher who brought soulful elements to the table while her father banked with a variety of growers in the region, influencing Maria’s acquisition back to Eastern North Carolina.

From 2011-2017, Maria lived in Colorado while working in the Produce world supporting growers with their distribution process, but as the western winds blew, Maria explored through passion projects following her direction as a florist in late 2013 when flowers were hitting the supermarket scene. After working in two wildly talented flower shops for experience, Moonlight Iris was birthed in January 2015.

Moonlight Iris landed in Charleston, SC late 2017 a with an eight year face-paced stint in the vastly desired destination wedding & party capital, Maria has integrated an extensive array of experience + highlights to her design portfolio that she is excited to simplify and drive home to the Dogwood State of North Carolina.

Maria now headquarters in Wilmington, NC with her daughter and greatest inspiration, Eve, to reside closer to her beloved heartland & family. When she is not working or enjoying motherhood, you’ll find Maria nestled somewhere cozy reading or reconnecting with the pace mother nature invites or at the peak of festival season, dancing her way to catch live music. She is an avid Yoga Practitioner and has been trained to teach in 2021. Maria’s spiritual hunger & thirst is enriched on the daily through practical joys and the language of flowers has been her guide since the beginning for the expressive & energetic exchange in all of her work.
